Blue Star
An ancient Hopi Indian prophecy states, "When the Blue Star Kachina makes its appearance in the heavens, the Fifth World will emerge". This will be the Day of Purification. The Hopi name for the star Sirius is Blue Star Kachina.
Thus, this ritual is part of a series of rites that prepare us to enter The Fifth World.

Sothis
Sirius (Sothis in Greek, Sopdet in Egyptian) is the brightest star in the sky. It is identified with Isis in many Egyptian texts. The first appearance of Sirius in the sky announces the annual flooding of the river Nile.
Sirius is called The Dog Star; it is the eye of the dog in the constellation Canis Major (Latin for the greater dog).

The Liturgy
The ritual Sirius, Star of Isis is part of the series Psyche: Magical Journeys of the Goddess by Lady Olivia Robertson.

Psyche is divided into two parts.
Part 1, The Spiral of Tiamat, travels the ever-widening spheres of Earth, Moon, Sun, and Galaxy.
Part 2, The Rays of Ishtar, consists of psychic journeys to seven constellations that correspond to the Rays.
The eighth psychic journey, to the star Sirius, is the only one that is not to a constellation. It corresponds to the Fourth Ray.
The star Sirius may be thought of as Ishtar herself, descending and ascending through seven spheres, to confront that which is at the center as well as at the boundary of our galaxy. The myth of the descent of Ishtar is structurally similar to the search of Isis for Osiris.
